(Band Karo Shor, Play Only Kishore Mach Gaya Shor, Har Taraf Hain Kishore) Many of Kishore Kumar won Filmfare awards and the show today carried on this week’s theme of participant’s performing those award winning songs. In the previous episode the participants had sang some of those songs and many more stellar performances to be seen and heard. We had celebrities who had paid their tribute to this great performer named Kishore Kumar, not only a singer, but a composer, actor, director and a multitalented personality.
Today’s show started with a power-packed performance by Atif Aslam that set the mood and everyone was visibly enjoying it immensely. The host and hostess were ready with their welcoming and encouraging words to ensure more rocking performances as the previous episode.
The first performer to come on stage was the man who has won many hearts with his casual attitude and humble countenance. He sang the soul-touching song from the movie ‘Kala Pather’, Ek Rashta Hai Jindegi. He has been doing pretty well for himself, so far in the show with a consistency that was praise-worthy. But, the judges felt that he was out of form, while Amit Kumar felt that Chetan lacked confidence.
The next participant to come on stage to win our hearts was Shailendra. He sang the soulful Hazar Rahen Mudke Dekhi from the movie Thodi Si Bewafai. He tried his best to please the judges and set the floor on fire by singing a remix of Hum Bewafa Hargiz Na The. The judges however seem to expected more from him and advised him to maintain the balance of his tone and get better the next time.
Indian Idol runner up and Tata Indicom challenger Amit Paul was the next participant to replace Shailendra on the stage. Amit has been a heartthrob of million’s of fans and he has also received a lot of praise from the judges. He chose quite an unusual song for his style and was able to live up to his reputation. He sang a serious umber Manzilen Apni Jagah Hai. The judges appreciated this and were very happy with his performance.
The next participant to come to the stage was Arnab Chakraborty. He has already proved himself to be a serious Kishore fan a number of times so far. He sang a romantic songHame Tumse Pyar Kitna from the movie Kudrat. The judges were not impressed by his performance. Rajeshwari tried to defend him and it led to an argument between the judges and the hostess. The argument turned serious with the hostess declaring Arnab to have been eliminated from the show. Arnab who took it in a jovial spirit was only taken by surprise as it turned out to be a practical joke played on him. The ice broke as the judges were full of praise for him. As it turned out, he was named to be the judges’ favorite in this episode as well.
Milind Ingle was the last performer to come on the stage today. He sang a beautiful number from an equally beautiful movie. He sang Sagar Kinare from the movie Sagar. Though the judges liked his performance, they still felt that he has lost his charm and that he should try even more. Amit Kumar felt that his pronunciation was not clear.
We had a surprise performance from a radio jockey from Pakistan who came to pay his tribute to Kishore Kumar. Bilal Patel had flown in from Pakistan to pay a musical tribute in this show. The show drew to a closure and the elimination of one of these singers was more that inevitable. The three participants who were in danger zone were Nayan, Rex and Anil. The judges secured Nayan’s staying back in the show. The participants were asked to choose among Rex and Anil. The ultimate choice was Rex and Anil bade a tearful farewell to the show. But the show would go on and we would see some more amazing performances in the coming weeks.
