I’m not Indian–but by becoming friends with some Indian families over the years I became a fan of the cinema and music of this fabulous sanskriti. When I first heard Kishore Sahib, it was indeed magic. Now I listen to his DVDs and request his music whenever I listen to Indian music channels–thank you Lord for Kishore Kumar–a hard rock loving American girl is now a huge fan of Kishore Kumar forever and ever!!! किशोरदा की आवाज…………. वाह ! जितना सुनते जाओ उतनी ही गहराई बढ़ती जाती है । वाकई उन्होंने जो कुछ भी गाया दिल की संपूर्ण गहराई से गाया । किशोरदा के गीत साथ हों तो किसी भी तनहा जगह अकेला नहीं लगता । हाँ एक बात मैंने महसूस की है । उनके गाने सुनने वाला शायद कोई गलत काम करने वाला व्यक्ति होगा ।

1987 is the year I recall long ego, when I was in my first year of engg in Pune. I remember the day 13th Oct when the news came to us in the evening 8:00 PM, “Kishore Kumar IsNo More”. I become silent and speechless for a few minutes and wondered how come Kishore da leaves at an age of 58 yrs. Indeed he was too young to die and still had so much potential to contribute.

May his soul rest in peace.
