K for Kishore: Humto Mohhabat Karega (8th Episode)Ek Mein Aur Ek Tu (Duet) This week love is in the air in ‘K for Kishore’, the only show of its type. The singers, judges and the hosts all are paying tribute to the great singer Kishore Kumar in this show. As it was in the 7th episode, the participants are celebrating love. The previous episode went on with the festivities of the singers as well as the guest singers and beauties taking part with vigor and enthusiasm. The atmosphere was painted red with romance and the evergreen duets of Kishore Kumar were buzzing in the air.

The episode started with a recap of the previous episode, where the Jhumroos had performed and some even scored the highest so far. Today the first Bangdu to come on stage was Kshitij, who came along with another firebrand performer from the Indian Idol, Meenal. They sang the dumdaar and super hit number from ‘Khel Khel Mein’, Khullam Khula Pyar Karenge Hum Dono. They were not exactly able to woo the judges, though the song had enough potential to rock the show. They failed by few notes and delicate tunes. Amit found the force lacking, Sudesh didn’t find the chemistry between the two singers and Bappi as usual was very lenient. Today, Bappi Da recollected this song in the Binaca Geet Mala’s top of the list for quite some weeks. Kshitij managed to get 21.

Gaata Rahe Mera Dil, which has made many hearts happy and luminous, was the song that the next participant Chetan Rana and his partner Aditi Paul chose to present before the audience. The Judges really appreciated their effort. Bappi liked Aditi’s performance and Amit addressed Chetan Rana as ‘Laale Di Jaan’. Chetan even acted quite well to please the judges as well as the audience. Chetan managed to score 26, which was not so bad, especially with a strict panel to judge.

The cute looking Puja from the Indian Idol was the partner of the next participant Saurabh Ghosh. Puja was dressed in a white dress looking like a cute doll. This pair sang the romantic song from the movie ‘Deewaar’, Kehdoon Tumhe Yaa Chup Rahun. Amit noted Puja missing a note or two. He even found Saurabh paying more attention to dance than to the song. His over all performance was ok. He managed to get an average score of 21.

Saurav, Puja Chatterji – Kehedun Tumhe

The next pair to come on stage brought in the romantic number from the movie ‘Rocky’. This song was one of the greatest hits so far. The youngest participant Suhas and naughty Ankita sang Kya Yahi Pyar Hai. The song made memorable with Sanjay Dutt and Tina Munim adding the innocence of love and sensuous romance. The young pair tried real hard, but the judges scored it average. Surprisingly, Sudesh found them to be appearing like two angels ascending from heaven to perform before them. He found the Mukhda to be good yet the pair messed up the antara. Amit and Bappi thought Suhas has fallen for the charms of Ankita, to the extent of forgetting his music! With all fun in its own place, this pair scored 22.

‘Yaadon ki Baraat’ was a hit film with three heroes, but its music was at par with everything else and bagged much acclaim among music lovers. Chintan and Prajakta Sukhre sang the optimistic Lekar Hum Deewana Dil from this movie. They scored 22. The judges seemed to like Prajakta more and advised Chintan to keep his body movements in check. Amit found them to have done the trick.

Chintan requested Amit to sing a song with them. The song ‘Aati Rahengi Baahaaren, Jaati Rahegi Baaharen’, was the song that Chintan requested Amit to sing, which was originally sung by Kishore Kumar, Asha Bhonsle and Amit Kumar himself. As expected, Amit fulfilled the request with much enthusiasm. Amit recollected and sang the Bengali worded version of the song which R.D.Burman used, while teaching the song to Amit.

Nayan and Meenal came up with the fun-filled song Jay Jay Shiv Shankar from the movie ‘Aap Ki Kasam’. This song made the day, with the judges enjoying themselves and dancing to the tune. Nayan showed another of his talent by making all the three judges enjoy it immensely with fun and merriment. The audience also enjoyed themselves. Nayan got the highest score till date, 29. There was spirit and inspiration in the air that only the late singer could induce and it was visible in the unity of these entertainers who were thoroughly enjoying themselves. All in all this was a rocking performance and the moment was magical.

Rajeshwari requested the judges to select one pair of singers with the ‘Ek Mein Aur Ek Tu’ factor, which would bring in the Kishore Kabach for their respective teams. The judges agreed and decided upon two pairs, Nayan-Meenal and Vinod-Aditi Paul’s pair to be at par with each other. As is customary, of every Saturday, the elimination was knocking at the door when the judges decided other wise and saved the three participants Apurva, Saurabh and Kshitij. So, the fun filled episode ended with no tears or no disciple of Kishore Kumar getting out of the show.

Oh.. Jai Jai Shiva Shankar….. oh. Oh boy, what a blast it was, real real tribute the great man Kishore, that girl Minal was really having fun and singing, she stole the attention away from rocking Nayan and Sudesh, wow a what a show it was

  4. Rohit says:

Can anyone tell me out there. Which are the songs completed by Sudesh Bhonsle for Kishore?

    Thanks…

  5. Grate…..!!!! Minal & Nayan, u made everyone go rocking.
Thanks to the Judges that they did not eliminate anyone. Truely speaking do you think we are justified that Apporva who got good marks in last episode should be eliminated…..

Esteemed Judges and Anchors- Don’t u think we’ll be justified and more genuine if we do not make anyone eliminated from the show,as we are testing everyone to the capacity of ” HEIR APPARENT”. With each episode reflecting different moods of Kishore Kumar, everyone should get a fair chance and their average performance in different styles be assesed.

  6. Certain things in life remain as photographic imprints.May be I was 3or4yrs old when I had seen Aap ki kasam and the only thing I remember is this scene of Jai Jai Shiv Shankar……It was great Minal & Nayan, u hav rocked everyone. Good going.
Only suggestion is if one has to pick up the “Heir Apparent” as per the theme, every singer should get an opportunity to sing the different moods of Kishore Kumar. There should not be any elimination, coz one may be good in the Romatic mood but may fail in the duet and an average of all would make a transparent and fair judgement to pick the right one.
